In 2012, the World Bank launched a new business line in India focused on Urban Revitalization and Inclusive Tourism Development. Since then, a fast-growing portfolio is being developed and implemented including two main groups of activities: (i) advisory and financial support to state level investment loans and (ii) policy and technical advisory support on inclusive tourism development and urban revitalization to line ministries. Three loans are concerned, namely Uttar Pradesh Pro Poor Tourism Development Project, Madhya Pradesh Inclusive Tourism Development and Bihar Inclusive Tourism Development. At policy level, advisory support is being provided to three key line ministries, including the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MoDWS). The main objective of this assignment is to provide project management support to concerned ministries at a critical moment of the implementation of their respective activities.
