Project Overview
Following several investigations in World Bank projects, the World Bank decided to cancel the Road Sector Reform Project due to systemic corruption issues in the Road and Highway Department (RHD). The Government of Bangladesh agreed to work with the World Bank to improve governance in the road sector and follow the recommendations of the World Bank Mission. Our role was mainly to update the information from the Operational Risk Assessment on:
- Management Information Systems (MIS) infrastructure as a tool to support the performance of Road and Highway Department management, operations and financial control functions, including its functionality, security, development and maintenance;
- Adequacy of staff skills in developing, maintaining and applying MIS in management, operations and financial control functions;
- Operational risks arising from Department’s use of MIS and mitigation measures fort short, medium and long terms.
